2013 Club Eternia and Filmation July Figures Added

This is an updated version of the New Adventures He-Man figure and it is a great update.  I absolutely love this figure, it is a great representation of the New Adventures look but with that classic beefed up He-Man physique.  He comes loaded up with extras too.  He comes with two heads and two sets of armor to recreate the removable helmet and armor of the original figure.  He also comes with his new shield and power sword that he can actually hold aloft thanks to his new wrist joints.  This is an awesome figure and does what the Classics line does best, it takes an old figure and updates it in every way possible to make a truly awesome figure.

I never had Clamp Champ as a kid and that's probably the main reason I'm just not that excited about having him now.  Don't get me wrong I am glad to have him and he is a nice figure, he just didn't floor me like the NA He-Man figure.  In fact the main reason I'm so underwhelmed by him may be because he came along with the NA He-Man.  He does have a great head sculpt and is a great update to the original figure, but never having that original figure I just don't have a big connection with this character.

Icer isn't the first Filmation figure we've gotten from the Classics line, but it is the first in the new Club Filmation subscription service and it's a pretty nice figure to start it off.  My favorite part of this figure is definitely his paint job.  They did a very nice job of giving him a frosted over ice look.  I'm really liking the head sculpt on this guy too.  It's a very defined blocky head sculpt that makes it look like its made out of ice.  He comes with an ice spear and the Staff of Avion also.  I love how Mattel is including these Filmation accessories with the Filmation figures and it is a testament to how much they put into this line.  The only complaint I have about Icer is the bottom of his feet are not perfectly flat.  For some reason they are a little warped on mine and it makes him difficult to stand in some poses, other than that I love the figure and can't wait to add some more Filmation figures to my collection.

NECA Rambo First Blood Gallery Added

The Rambo First Blood figure from NECA is up click the image above to check it out.

Rambo is a very nice figure, but there's no doubt they didn't nail the Silvester Stalone likeness here like they did with the recent Dutch figures.  It's still a decent likeness and there's no doubt who it's supposed to be, it's just not spot on.  Rambo comes with his machine gun, knife, and 3 ammo belts.  The figure has the same articulation as the Dutch figures and is hidden just as well.  I am absolutely loving the articulation NECA is giving their new figures, it's the main thing that got me to start collecting their stuff.  The paint on this figure is really nice also, especially the realistic looking blood on his right arm and running down the side of his face.

With every new NECA figure I get, they suck me in a little deeper to their line of figures.  Now all they need to do is go back and add this articulation to their Terminator figures.

NECA Aliens Series 1 Galleries Added

Aliens Series one galleries are up on the NECA page, click on the pictures above to check out the individual galleries.

I love all three of these figures and I'm happy to report that I don't have any major QC issues with any of these figures.  My Hicks had a stuck hip, but a trip to the freezer has fixed that problem.  The detail and paint on these guys is wonderful, that combined with the great articulation these figures have is what has drawn me into collecting NECA figures.  The NECA stuff is the best stuff you can get at retail in my opinion.  I can not wait for series 2 and the upcoming Alien Queen is sure to be amazing.  Do yourself a favor and get these figures now, as long as you don't run into any of the random QC issues that have been reported you will not be disappointed.

TRU Exclusive Battle Damaged Predator Two Pack Gallery Up

This is the first actual Predator hunter figures I have picked up and I can't believe I didn't jump on this train sooner.  These are some of the best figures I have ever had the pleasure of owning.  The level of detail on these guys is insane and their articulation is great and doesn't detract from the incredible sculpts at all.  I love both these figures, but if I have to pick a favorite it's got to be the City Hunter.  His torso seems to be a little bigger than the Jungle Hunter's and just gives the figure a little more mass.  That's not to say the Jungle Hunter is skinny, he is still a big boy just not as thick as the City Hunter.  I love both skulls included and I would have loved to get the smart disc also, but my two pack was one of them that was missing it.

There's no doubt about it I am completely sucked into this Predator line and I will be going back and trying to track down the rest of the Lost Tribe from Predator 2 and the series 8 Jungle Hunter.  Where it goes from there who knows.

Classics Octavia Gallery Up

Octavia is the June figure released as part of the Club Eternia subscription service from Matty Collector.  I'm not exactly sure where I stand on this figure.  I really like the head sculpt and she comes with a ton of accessories, but the way the tentacles are made just makes her pretty aggravating to play around with.  They are articulated, but they're not articulated enough to have a lot of fun with.  The hair gets in the way of the articulation and make it really difficult to move them around and I just don't like the way they turned out.  I know the tentacles are essential to this character, but they're my least favorite part of the figure and really bring the figure down for me.  The fantastic head sculpt is nice though and she does look good standing with her Horde counterparts.  I'm glad to have her, I just wish the tentacles could have turned out better.

Predator Series 9 Jungle Disguise and Jungle Encounter Dutch

The NECA love continues with the two newest Dutch figures from the first Predator movie.

Jungle Disguise Dutch is an incredible figure, the detail of the mud and leaves on his chest and arms is terrific and the paint job is excellent.  He has all the articulation of all the other Dutch figures and he comes with his entire arsenal of hand made weapons also.

Jungle Encounter Dutch is another really nice figure and I'm glad I go him, but he's not quite the show stopper that the Jungle Disguise figure is.  Don't get me wrong, he's still a great figure, just not quite up to par of the Jungle Disguise or Jungle Extraction Dutch.  He comes with his M-16, pistol, and knife.

New NECA Section Added!

I finally caved and bought my first NECA figures recently and man have I been missing out.  The new stuff coming from NECA is amazing.  I've got 3 of the 4 Dutch figures released and they are all excellent figures.  Now I have to go back and track down a Jungle Predator for him to do battle with.  The new Alien stuff looks amazing too and I'm sure I'll be picking those up soon also.  But for now I'll kick things off with the first Dutch figure from the Predator line, Jungle Extraction Dutch!

Is there any doubt whatsoever who this figure is?  NECA knocked their Arnold sculpts completely out of the park with the Dutch figures for the Predator line.  I can't believe how great the likeness is on these figures.  I love the detail on his clothing and the articulation is hidden well enough that it doesn't break up the sculpt at all.  He comes loaded with accessories as well.  Dutch comes with his M-16, pistol, machete, and knife.  I can't believe I waited this long to pick these guys up, but now that I have I'm going to have to look into expanding my NECA collection.
