Classics Mosquitor Added

Mosquitor is part of The Horde Empire and is one of the oddest, yet at the same time coolest figures in the Classics line.  I absolutely love his wild over the top look, from his insane head to his "blood" filled chest and even those cool clunky boots.  This figure is a must have for any collection and he fits in perfectly with his Horde brothers.

Classics Ram Man, Fang Man, and Cy-Chop Added

Finally we got our Ram Man and I have to say he was well worth the wait.  This guy is big and undeniably awesome!  The sculpt here is awesome and this is definitely the most articulated version of Ram Man ever.  I do wish they would have put a slit in his "skirt" that comes down over his legs to allow for deeper poses, but everything else works like a charm.  The extra head looks awesome and almost makes me wish I had picked up an extra to display both versions.

Fang Man is the first Filmation figure that has been released in the Classics line and hopefully is a sign of things to come from the new Filmation sub line.  This guy looks amazing, another example of the price increase at work here.  The paint apps are great and the added details all over the figure really make him pop.  It's hard to believe that this figure is made on the standard MOTUC buck, the new neck piece makes this look like a completely new upper torso.  I love this figure and I only hope that the rest of the Filmation figures are as great as Fang Man.

Cy-Chop is one of the new figures created for the 30th Anniversary of the MOTU brand.  He's not the worst new figure created, but he's not the best either.  I like the idea and most of the figure I actually like, but I just can't get over how ridiculously huge his choppers are.  I know that's the whole idea, but it's just too over the top for me.  If the choppers were a little smaller and he had included regular hands as well I would like this guy a lot more.  I really like the blue hair and the clear chest with the organs, but the hug choppers and kind of blah head sculpt ruin the figure for me.

The Snake Army is Growing...

I've had these guys for a while, just haven't had the time to get them put up.  Both of these figures are some of the best that this line has to offer so far, check them out below for yourself.

Rattlor is the hands down champion when it comes to sculpt and paint in the MOTUC line so far.  The paint on this guy is outstanding, from the colors to the application it can not be beat.  The fact that the paint is so clean despite all the awesome sculpted scales is mind blowing.  I love the extra neck piece to recreate his action feature and the rattle in the tail is a great touch also.  I do wish they could have included and alternate head with a closed mouth.  Personally I would have rather had an extra head than the general armor from the MYP series.

Another Snake Man, another home run.  The Snake Men are quickly becoming some of my favorite figures from the Classics line.  Just their overall appearance just screams pure evil to me and the way they have pulled off there gimmicks is great.  The interchangeable parts keep the sculpts from being affected, but still give the same effect when they're swapped.  Snake Face's gimmick is great, he turns his enemies into stone when they look upon his snake face.  The alternate head with the snakes coming from the mouth and eyes is amazing and just screams evil.  Even with the two heads he still comes with the standard Snake Man staff as well as his shield and two small snakes that peg into his armor to complete his action figure recreation.  If this is the quality of figures we get for the price increase we got this year, then it is definitely worth the increase in my opinion.

The Fighting Foe Men

I got my camera charged up again, so here are The Fighting Foe Men...all $75 worth of them.

The Fighting Foe Men are the quarterly variant figures for the month of May from Matty Collector.  I must admit May was a month that I wasn't too excited about, with the $75 Foe Men and the blah Karatti figure.  But as it turned out I really enjoyed the Karatti figure (see my write up in his gallery) and theFighting Foe Men aren't all that bad either.  I have to admit that even after having them in hand, I wouldn't have picked these up for the full price of $75 if they had not been included in my subscription.  I would have bought them at a sale for around $40-$50, but not $75.  Their designs are neat and you can definitely recognize the vehicles they are designed after in their various armor and weapons, but they just don't really do it for me personally.  They just don't look enough like members of The Horde to fit in for me, so mine will probably end up with the Powers of Grayskull stuff.

The Fighting Foe Men are neat figures and a cool nod to the old model kits, and the option to display them in their original pirate attire or new Horde members is a plus.  Unfortunately for me personally it's still not enough for me be happy with the $75 price tag.

New Masters Classics Pictures

Believe it or not I have actually updated my MOTU section with new pictures.  I've added King He-Man and this month's release Karatti.  I was also going to add the Fighting Foe Men, but my camera died on me so this is as far as I made it.  I'm going to try and keep up with the monthly releases for the rest of the year and do some catching up in between...I did say try.

Classics Karatti

I was very pleasantly surprised by this figure.  The head sculpt and paintwork on the eyes really makes me love this figure more every time I look at it.  I love the way they painted the eyes a glossy black inside the flat black eye sockets, it's hands down my favorite part of the figure.  The hair and mask on the head also look great and just further enhance the absolutely terrific work done on the head.  He fits in perfectly with his New Adventures mates and I can't wait to add to there ranks.

This is a great figure that I was not even looking forward to, but now that I have him I love him.

It's Been a While...

But hopefully I'll be keeping this thing a little more up to date than I have been recently.  I have a new camera since I last posted and I plan on getting some new lighting soon so hopefully my pictures will be even better.

I have a ton of new MOTUC stuff that I have to photo and add, but I am currently working on acquiring some Masterpiece Transformers.  I have been sucked back in by Takara with the announcement of Prowl and Bluestreak.  Prowl was my absolute favorite figure as a kid and the early images were enough to get me on board with the new direction that the Masterpiece line is taking.  I will be adding a page for the line soon, with MP-14 Red Alert being the first to be added today.  I also have the Hasbro version of MP-10 Optimus Prime and the recent MP-11 version of Thundercracker that will be added eventually.

One section that will be going away is the Voltron section.  I was very disappointed with how the Voltron figure from Mattel turned out.  So much so that I have already sold it and put that money towards the new Masterpiece figures.  There probably won't be much updating to either the TMNT section or the Thundercats sections either.  My interest in the kids TMNT line has slacked off, due to the subpar figures the secondary characters receive and the Thundercats stuff is currently done for.  If someone does pick up the ball from Bandai and starts churning out figures again I will be right there, but that doesn't look too likely right now.  The oversized figures coming out right now just are my type of figure, plus I don't have the room for them.

I am collecting a few WWE figures here and there and will probably add a section for them also.  I'm mainly getting the older Legends figures and the new Flashbacks from Mattel.  The new guys just don't really do anything for me.

So there's that, it's good to be back and I hope to keep the updates coming a little more regularly this time.
